Mrs. Catherine Brown, a case
worker with the Department of
Public Welfare, accepted the
baskets in behalf of the de¬
partment. The Girls Ensemble
rendered .several musical se¬
lections.
A teachers chorus, under the
direction of Miss Mildred Elli¬
son and Mrs. Mildred G. Young,
gave Its first performance Tues¬
day night during the regular
PTA meeting.
At the last in-service meet¬
ing Mrs. Helen Adkins. Miss
Barbara Burke and Mrs. Mary
Simmons played the tape re¬
cording cf their assinged topic.
The school received a televis¬
ion set as Thanksgiving gift
from an anonymous donor.

The Beach Junior High Tri-
Hi-Y club distributed a large
number of boxes of canned
goods to needy families in the
community as its Thanksgiving
project. Tire cans were donated
by the classes of Beach Junior
School. A large box was
given to Mills Memorial Home
and a cash donation was made
to the Charity Hospital Auxili-
ary.
Mrs. Ruth G. Scott and Miss
Mattie Lee are advisers. Arthur
Dwight is principal.

the meeting.
Collins Elementary school is
progressing under the leader¬
ship of Theron Spencer. Each
class is working on a unit. The
units are as follows; 1st grade,

munity Helpers," Mrs. M. Reid,
teacher; 3rd grade, “Transpor¬

sixth grade class had a Thanks-
giving luncheon in the school's
cafetorium. The purpose of the
^cheon was to sit as a family
and enjoy a Thanksgiving din-
ner. Social graces and correct
table setting were enjoyed. The
Art and Cafeteria committees
of the class arranged the beau-
tifully decorated table. Guests
included Rev. E. G. Lane. Mrs.
L. ^ Burgess, Burgess, class class mother, mother, and
the principal, Mrs. Hayes.

the SLAGS at Paulsen St. School
accompanied Mrs. Daisy Gad-
son, Itinerant Librarian to
Liberty County school for a
meeting of librarians. After
the meeting the group visited
the library at FT. Stewart.

was installed as chaplain of
inter-school council.

teacher, visited the school re¬
cently. Miss Bernita Darby

formation to teachers and stu¬
dents about the Symphony or¬
chestra. Miss Darby distribut¬
ed leaflets which described in
pictures and words all of the
instruments used in the Sym¬
phony orchestra, .and the seat¬
ing arrangements of the mem¬
bers.
The Gra-Y and Tri-Gra-Y
clubs distributed baskets to
needy families for Thanksgiv¬
ing. The advisers of the
clubs are Mrs. D. Drayton, and
E. Beard.
The school council at Paulsen
has designated December as
Better Speech Month.
