Sol C. Johnson Activates
\ Cadet Corp
I For the first time in the his¬
tory ham of Negro schools in Chat¬
County, a Cadet unit has
been formed. This all-milita-y
Unit, formally christened The
Johnson Cadets, consists of
coys from ninth through elev¬
enth grades.
The primary mission of this
unit is to teach
I military tactics
and military
discipline. The
1 Cadet unit is a
co - curriculum
|| H program and
|||§ meetings are
held twice
weekly during
§| the regular ac¬
tivity period.
At the close of
SCOTT each meeting
the Cadets are instructed in
military drill and ceremonies.
The unit is composed of two
detachments. Each detachment
Jeojnsists manding of the fifty first cadets. detachment Com¬
isi Commander Roy Rosier, an
'eleventh grade student. Com-

training military personnel. All

Korean War, seeing action in
