Mui.ks.—The first sale of Government
horses and mules, under the direction of
Richard Penny, Captain*ttnd Assistant
Quartermaster, took place at the Post
Corral, in this city, yesterday morning.
Tho prices they brought averaged $79 oA
per bead. About eighty of these animals
will be disposed of each day during tho
present week, until all of them aro sold.
These sales will probably comprise the
last of the Government stock to be sold at
this locality, and those imeding stock
should not let this opporlunity to supply
thorns elves pass unimproved. The sale?
