To tlie Tax payers and Voters of
Georgia: I write you a short letter
on the capital question. Now’, don’t
look on me as an interested party,
because I live in and own property in
Atlanta. I tell you, In the begin
ning, that tlie removal of tlie capital
from Atlanta will not lie felt by her
property holders. She is upward and
onward, and no smnll thing like that
will affect her. I tell you further,
this election is not Atlanta Milledge
ville; it is Milledgeville and your
self. Tux payer, when you vote for
Milledgeville you vote against your
self. My reason for saying this is,
you have now the capital in Atlanta;
you have here public build

When I say this I mean what I say.
Take this home to yourself und say,
if you were well fixed for life in tlie
way of improvements, would you
move? Now, in addition to ample
buildings, the city of Atlanta proposes
to build a new State house. You may
say, why does she do tills if tlie re
moval will not affect her? I reply,
it is her citizens pride to keep the cap
ital here. Fulton county pays more
State taxes than any other county in
" :s is another reason

she should have the few small crumbs
that may fall from tlie capital’s being

I don’t understand why other cities
can be against Atlanta. If Atlanta

a greater inlluoneo over tho system

when tliseased the entire organism is
