profitable and will make more money this

Mr J 8 Fraser died at his residence near
HurUboro, Ala., Thursday morning at h
o'clock iroiu abcess of the lungs. He was
about fl'ty years of me aud a member of
the Melhcdtat church. He leaves a wile
aud two children. He was well kuowu lu
this section of the oouutry and was a prom
inent aud Influential citizen, much respect
ed iv all who knew him, He will be
burled this (Friday) morning at 10 o’clock

Mrs KC Jeter, wife of Col K C Jeter, died
last Tuesday, after fearful scflerlng from a
cancer. Hhe was burled ou Woduesday
evening. The large number of friends at

John M Ingram, a sturdy aud haudsorue
specimen ot the Intelligent young Georgia

three aud a half acres ou his place from
Which he got this fHll, two bales of cottou
to the acre. The land was prepared with
2.0UO pounds of oompost, constating of 830
worth of acl *, and 40 bushels of oott
and 70 buahels of stable manure. The seed
aud inauure were from his owu larru and
the ouly outlay was for the acid.
He also has a one horse farm, consisting
of thirty-six acres, ou which was raised
seventeen bales of cotton aud 150 bushels Of
corn. The farm was run ou shales by two
white teuauts, the negro who had routed
the place havlug left It.
This is all pretty good larmirg, but the
thr teand a half acres Mr lugram considers
his brag patch aud la a litt.e proud of it as

A Man Wanted.
On Friday ot last weex a man by tbe
name ct W. 8. Culp, who had beeu farming
In Webster county, for the lest eight
mouths,brought a load of cotton to the city,
depoelled It at the warehouse of Capt C W
Felder and instructed him to sell It. After
se ling the oottou, Culp bought a horse
for 1130 from Prince Bros , paying
half cash and giving a note payable ten
days afterdate lor the ba'ance. He was to
pay a Mr Nicholson twelve dollare for
hauling the cotton to the city, but mounted
his horse and left. Nicholson procured a
horse from the Prtuce Brothers and fol*
lowed after Culp, but when he got to his
place he bad left there, taking everything
but the woman who was living with him
aa his wile. Nicholson then procured
Deputy Hherlff Baty, and the two follow* d
Culp on to Columbus, reaching that olty
about three hours after he did Haturday af
ternoon. The police aud sheriff were noti
fled, the bridges guarded, the city scoured,
bat Culp could not be fouud, and up to this
date he le still bidden Horn the sight of
