Savannah, Ga, April 23.—The
following are the reguiafiouo lor tin
government of the competitive drills
"io beheld In this city on the occa
sion of the centennial of the Chat
ham Artillery:
1. Each iii/anuy company com
peting shall consist of a',
least three commissioned (flictrs, i wo
guides and twenty-four men, bona-
fide members of the company with
which they drill.
2. The movemen s will be accord
ing to progiamme prepared by the
j udges, and issued to captains of com
peting oompauies on tne day before
the urill at 7 pm. No fancy move*
men s, not author.zm by tactics, will
be allowed.
3 After the programme hae been
made public, noo 'inpany will be per
mitted to drill, except before the
Judges, until the competitive drills
are finished, ami commanders will
sign the following cer..float;:
“I pledge my word as an .Hirer
and a geuiiemuti that I will not drill
or instruct, or allow my officers to
drill or Instruct, my organization af
ter the issue of this programme, tx
cept before he Judg<", until the drills
in uiy own elate ait 11 .8 aid; nor will
I wants-, nor ailow any member of
my oiga ..zition to witness, the drib
of any competing orga.: zuion In my

ma n in camp during the drill of

readiness to report at the call of the
judges.
6 Commanders of competing or
ganizations will draw lor places on
Monday, May 3, at 7 p m. Any or
ganization not drawing, through its
commander, at that lime, will be ex
cluded.
7. The drill will be according to
the uuuiuers drawn. Commanders
will not oe allowed to exchange num
bers.
8. Any organization falling to pass
the inspection will be excluded from
further competition.
9 The drill will commence at 10
a m , when the drEDcail wnl be
sounded ny the uunupeter. A 10:05
e m the as-embly will be cuuul-
ed, and at 10:10 a m the com
pany first on the programme

ny will be allowed five minutes fur
ther time. Not reporting at the end

Sun, a newspaper published in the

for four months, or served on the
