Coooane, Iodoform or Mercurials in
any form in the treatment of catarrh or
hay fever should be avoided, as they are
both injurious and dangerous. Iodoform
is easily detected by its oileusivo odor Tile
only reliable catnrrh remedy on the mar
ket to-day is Ely’s Cream Ralm, being free
from all poisonous drufrs. It has cured
thousands of acute and chronic cases
where all other remedies have failed. A
particle is applied into each nostril • no

Will. Henry FitzLee, son of the late Hen.
Robert H. Lee, has been nominated for
congress by the democrats of the eight h
district of Virginia, to succeed Barbour
who voluntarily retired. “Puny” Lee as
he is best known, was u confederate troop
er, and won distinction as such, and was
once set aside as a confederate prisoner to
be executed in retaliation for some colored
federal soldiers who hud boon condemned
io death in the early days of the colored
troops. Tlie death sentences were side
soRueutly removed all around and Lee was
exchanged hi due time. Ho has been
farming since the war and has not figured
in politics beyond one t;rm of service in
the legislature. Ho--ill doubtless be cleetci

in October, 1SS5,1 contracted that dreitd-
lul diseu.ic, blood poison. I went under
treatment of a, physician at once. At the
end of tho first month I became alarmed
at the progress of tho disease in mv svi
tern, and abandoned the doctor. A friend
told me of S. S. S and its wonderful effect!
I gave it a trial, and began to improve*
with the first bottle. I have taken im,

The B uton Herald refers to David B.
Hill as “an astute politician.” This is a
droll mistake. Mr. Hill may be astute,
but he is not and does not pretend to be
a politician. He is a horny-handed farmer
from ’way down back, a simple yeoman
from Yeoraanville, an industrious culti
vator of short-horn ensilage, but not a
politician. It would be well for the agri
cultural editor of the Herald to send Mr.
Hill an apology. Address David B. Hill,

fail of reaching him.—New York Tribune.
