Comity Mkktino.— Pursuant to previous ar
rangement, a meeting of citizens from various
parts of the county, was held in the court house
on the 7th inst„ at which Judge J, W. B, Somsbs
presided, and Dr. J. C. Anderson acted as Secre
tary, After deliberation, Judge Joun Harris was
selected as the ablest man to represent this Dis
trict in the Senate. A. W. Evans, Esq., our old
and popular Cleric of the Superior court, was
nominated for the Representative branch of the
Legislature, when the Meeting adjourned, leav
ing the nomination of the other candidate for
the Legislate re to be made by the people of
Conyers. Space forbidsjflour saying anything
