The annual statement of The Mu

made by this institution during twelve j

The new business written amounted
to 8103.214,26132, an increase of

Life now aggregate 8126,082,153.56.
indicating a gain fur the year of 87,-
275,301. The Company has now an

from all sources is reported at $26,-
215,982. It paid to its members dur
ing the year for death claims and en

727,550.22. Up to date the Mutual

The surplus fund was increased sl,

now has $7,940,003.33 over and above

The Guinness & Cannon Comedy
Company, numbering about a dozen
first class actors and actresses, gave
two excellent entertainments here last
Friday and Saturday nights, with an
afternoon matinee. The acting of
Messrs. Guinness, Cannon, Neal, Da
vis, Marshall and Henley, in that pa
triotic old Irish play, “Inshavogue,”
was fine indeed; while that of Misses
Kittie DeLorme, Maude Elliott and
Albani Troye was grand beyond de
scription. This company is educated
and trained in the magic arts of the
stage, being thoroughly equipped for
heavy tragedy as well as light com
edy. The songs and dances alone are
more than worth the admission price.
This company is composed of ladies
and gentlemen who make friends ev
erywhere they go. They will make
their homes in Georgia and will visit
Covington again in the near future,
when Music Hall will doubtless be
liberally patronized by the play-loving
people of this community. Notice
will he given as to when they will be
with us again.

have gone hack to the old reliable way
of selling goods for casli only and
hope our friends will have better
judgment than to think when we re
fuse to credit them that we are mak
ing a specialty of them. \Y e expect
to sell goods strictly for cash no mat
ter who gets mad “even though it
busts our hack open against the ceil

My Mother has had n cough lor twenty
years, pneumonia leaving her with i. bron
chia! trouble. Two years ago, her lungs
becoming involved, she became very much
emaciated and lost all strength, being ua
der regular treatment of a physician and
taking medicine nil hours of the day. I his
continued until n year ago when I saw your
advertisement of Dr. Aker’s English Rem
edy for Consumption and procured a bot
tle, as the tickling in her throat was unre
mitting and so irritating as to make talk
ing impracticable. She was so much re
lieved that another bottle was procured arid
we now buy by the case, she never being
without it. She bus no physician and takes
no other medicines. She remarked lately
that if she had not procured it when she
did she would now be dead.
We have recommended it to others who
always receive benefit from it. It anyone
desiring further particulars will address me
with a stamp I will answer with pleasure,
as I deem it the best cough medicine made;
A trial only is necessary' to convince
anyone of its merit. Very Respectfully,
D. M. Simmons, Post Master,
