A Good Appointment.
Mr. A. S. Cohen, of our citv, has re*
conily been appointed agent of the
"Travelers Accident Insurance Compa¬
ny ” of Hartford.
He is now ready to furnish those who
wish an accident insurance ticket, at the
very lowest possible rates.
The Travelers Insurance Company is
oue of the strongest and best in the
country, and pays a weekly indemnity
for injuries received by accident.
If yoil ate going to travel, you should
see Mr. Cohen before you start.
The residence occupied by Mr. J. W.
Hendrix, at Newborn, was destroyed by
fire during the high wind on Tuesday,
The fire burned so rapidly that but
few of the household goods were saved.
Mr. Hendrix is a poor man, and is en¬
gaged on the Middle Georgia and At¬
lantic railroad, and the loss falls heavily
upon him.
Judge E. F. Edwards wassuddenly at¬
tacked with bilious colic, on Wednes¬
day night, which resulted in a severe
rigor, followed by a hot fever. He suf
fered intensely for several hours, and
was greatly weakened by the severity of
the attack. He was able to attend court
on Thursday, but was quite feeble. We
are glad to say he is all right now.
Mr. Charlie Swanson will open his ice
cream parlor as soon as the weather per¬
mits, and will again serve the people
with the best of ice cream and cool
drinks during the summer. Charlie al
ways keeps a first class establishment,
and the Star bespeaks for him a eon
tinuance of the liberal patronage here¬
tofore extended to him.
Community co operation is the on¬
ly thing that will build a town. Ex
change of patronage is absolutely nec¬
essary to the building up of home en
terpises. Every individual that is
kept at work in a towu becomes a
cash customer.
