Scandals in High Life.
Stories of scandal m high life
have been quite frequent of late.
This has been the case on both
sides of the Atlnnti ic. A little
more than a year ago a story came
from Servia of the disgrace of
Queen Dragga, which shocked the
royal families of Europe and gave
to the scandal mongers food for
gossip which they rolled under
their tongues as a sweet morsel for
many days. Hardly had talk of
that affair ceused before th w story
of the disgrace and flight of the
Crown Princess Louise, of Saxony,
was heralded abroad, and while
this was being talked of i m every
royal household the startling con
fession of the ehame and disgrace
of Lady Granville Gordon, of
England was made in open court,
where she had instituted proceed¬
ings for the custody of her daugh¬
ter, winch confession was imme¬
diately followed by her flight.
These cases all excited much in¬
terest on this side of the Atlantic
as well ns in Europe, but nothing
has been of more widespread and
absorbing interest than re velations
that have this week been made in
the investigation into the mystery

NO BUGGY OR CARRIAGE
Ever made has proven so popular as the American born and Amer¬
ican developed Piano Box Buggy. In its modification it is used on
almost every wagon road in the whole country, and like clothing they
are made at all prices and used by rich and poor alike. The question
for the buyer to decide is what grade to buy. In ordinary outlines
* and at first, sight they all look alike, but are no more alike than a
15 00 suit looks like a $50.00 suit of clothing. We believe we make
the best Piano Box Buggy in the South, as good as money will buy,
regardless of how much or how little you want to spend. You can
easily buy too cheap a buggy, but you will not likely pay for too
good a one. We assert that

We have been making high grade buggies for 10 years and have al¬
ways endeavored to make the name “NORriAN” stand for the best— %

and disgrace that have been
told by two women in open court i
are t he most shocking relations of j
depravity that, have been made I
public in American high life in I
many year?. And those who feed |
upon scandal and disgrace have
had a feast the like of w Inch they
Lave seldom enjoyed.
When Mrs. Burdick went on the i
stand there were great crowds of
women in the court room. In
fact, the dispatches state that the
audience was made up largely of
women—the 400 of Buffalo—-who
had been drawn to the court room
by curiosity—by the prospect of
hearing something sensational. It
is safe to assume that, there is
much difference between the wo¬
men of Buffalo and those of the
south in this respect. It may be
stated without fear of contradic¬
tion, that in no southern city
would an audience of respectable,
refined women have gathered m a
court nom to hear evidence in a
that promised such revela¬
tions as were made in the Buffalo
It cannot be said that the
Buffalo women did not expect to
hear what they did hear. They
expect it, and went there to
hear it. This was manifested by
fact that after the first day’s
hearing the court room was again
crowded with womei on the se
day. The dispatches stated
there was a rush for seats,
and as on the previous day, there
a preponderance of women in
court room.
While the revelations made at
inquest are very shocking,
are little Jess so than the
of the leading women of
who voluntarily listened
