WE ARE COMING.
A\'e are coming, Father Jefferson
seven million sons strung!
Yes, the Democrats are coming
From all over the iand come ex
pressions of gratification with the
platform, of earnest and effective.!
lovalty to the party and its candi¬
dates.
And all over the land there is a
strong feeling that the Democrats
stand a spl-ndid chance to win in
this campaign As tho New York 1
Herald recently expressed rt. there!
is a strong undercurrent flowing J
from all directions towards Judge :
1
Parker.
And why should not the Demo |
crats win?
Tiie nominees of the party for,
ihc high offices of president and j
vice piesidr in are men 01 high ami ;
Stainless character, of life long princi-1 d
votkm to the party and its
pies, Of eminent ^ibiliues and G i i
successful records which inspire
c>>ntiue' c in them and 111 the ad
ministration which they would
give if successful in the - lection
And there i- a growing di-tru^t
if no: r disgust with President
Roosevelt. The nation is some¬
what wearv of a altery god, a
grand stand player, au actor who
poses and strikes attitudes a> d
makes speeches to attract attentio .
to himself.
There is a feeling that the pr s
idehtial office should be a position
of high honor and dignity, and
that a diguifi d gentleman should
fill the posit ii.n
And then th- business interest
of the county, already feaiful - t
Mr Roosevelt and not knowing
where he will break loose next,
ltav 1 been won over by the strong
and manly sta- d upon the fiuan
cial question assumed by Judge
Parker. They recognize that
Judge Parker there are the quali
ties ot dignity, courtesy, Conserva¬
tism and reverence for the law
that are so greatly lacking in Pres
ident Roosevelt.
So the distrust of the president
is on the increase, while the heart
of the county continues to turn
toward Judge Parker.
Then the Democrats are bar
inonious.
Just think <>f Grovoi Cleveland
and William J. Bryan, of Hmirv
Watterson and Richard Gluey, ot
Burke Cockiati and Nelson A.
Milos, of Ben R Tillman and Jud
so:: Harmon and David R. Kracis
united in their c- nnnendation of
Judge Parker and in their hearty
support of him.
Former President Clev-land h i-S
congratulated .Judge Parker and
will make at least one address,
perhaps more, in his behalf.
Richard Olnev, leader of New
England Democracy, wites that
the country cannot be too heartily
congratulated upon having Judge
laiker as a J tesideniiai
THE GEORGIA ENTERPRISE, COVIN*JfON, 0^ RIDAY MORNING.
From faraway Wisconain Will
tani F. Vilas, that devotee of Grov
er Cleveland, comes forth from his
rettreru-nt with hearty endorse*
ment ol the New York Jurist.
Burite Cock ran, who eight and
four years ag<> supported McKinley
is a firei-rand burning with en
thusiasm for Judge Parker.
Judso Harmon, of Ohio, and
David R Francis, of Missouri,
strong men and true, are hearty
fQr pa . ker
jj (erH j s another side yet
William J Bryan in magnificent
spee ch that fairly riddled the P.e
platform and pretenses,
pledged his support to the Demo
cratic candidates and platform
lo , n „ ging , eUer t0 (he nomi .
nee. William Randolph Heurst
placed himself and his great corps
of dail\ newspapers on the side of
Judge Parker. And William Ran¬
dolph llearst’s worst enemies have
never denied that he is a factor of
power with a vast influence in
some -ect 1011 s.
Henry Wutterson, that vigorous
pe.-simi-t and hater of shams and
weakness, sees Democratic victory
in sight, and will do his part to
bring it about.
Beni. R. Tillman, the unrecon
struct d fire eat^r from South Car¬
olina, was a peacemaker and a sup
porter of Barker at the convention,
as he has been s nee.
Henry G. Davis has brought the
0 d 1 "‘ e D ^‘ 0crdc >' ol ,hc P a -‘ ">
to touch with the vigorous young
Democ ' acv ot < hc present, and his
nomination has made W'est Vir
gmia a Democratic state and has
enthused both the south and the
middle west. »
And the independents are in line
too
General Nelson A. Miles has
written to J ud ^ e Parker to c " n
R ra, ‘‘| b^le a ^ him. love and i* lost those between who know Miles
OA
and Roosevelt know that Miles
will support Parker with all his
in art.
Carl Sci.'urz, representative Ger
tna, ‘ c 'Dzvii and independent has
ined up wi11 1 the Democrats
And tl 1 .-rank and ti'e of the
party, fr- tn v-anad - line to Mexican
line and from Atlantic slope to
Pacific -lope, are heart and soul
W, We “: ,he are |,,,rty coining, bather . leffer-on
sevei. million sons strong!
All, ves, DemO'iaci is coming
It will be a fearful battle The
Republicans have behind them the
machinery o f the government,
which some of the pie-ident’s nd
visers will not lies tat- to use jf
neoessa|, y- lhey have behind
ttiem tlie support of great indus
tr ' al or g an izntions. known as the
trusts, who realize that the admin*
i-tration, with all it’s recklessness
ta-ver ‘run amuck 1 » against
the trusts. They have a perfect
political machine that reaches into
^ Vr>r y Republican and doubtful
state in the uni<-n, and into IIia A
a Democratic n state. They „ will
have the money behind them.
But the Democrats ure united.
Democrats are enthusiastic,
Tha «* »mi«X 1
Ben Hill, in one Of Ins matchless
speeches, speaking of the return of
the southern stales to the hafls of
congress, suid:
‘Me are here. We are IU the
house ot our fathers; <>ur brothers
are our companions, and we are at
home to stay, thank God. t 1
So today Democracy has return
to the h -nm of its fathers, and its
brothers are its com pan ions
Democracy is coming It is
•otn.ng home to stay, May this
prediction come true! May it come
tru- speedily!
We ure coming,Father J- ffi-rson,
seven million sons strong!—-Monroe
Advertiser.
