Col. M. Iv. Palmer, made the following

native of N »rth Carolina—the son of

turned to his native State and married,
and wept immediately to the Sta e of
Texas, whetc he practiced Ins profession
until the breaking out of the recent war.

memorable struggle. He came to the
county of White about the year 1867,
and was admitted to the bar, and at once
went into active practice. Hi soon won
the respect and esteem of the bench and
bar, and the confidence of' suitors, and
was fast rising to a position of

history of this part of the State that
few of liis age havo been able to
atiaiu. He was a man of warm impul
ses, a kind neighbor, a loving husband,
an i an indulgent father.” The com
