THEODORE BL0I3 & CO.
By the above card it will be seen that I
have purchased from Messrs. Theodore Blois
& Co. their entire interest in the Daily

Started but a little over oue year ago, uu
der most unfavorable circumstances, the

achieved a success far beyond my nnticipa

in the city and county, with an uuequaled
advertising patronage at home and abroad.
It is most gratifying tbatlbe course adopt

all respects, ba* been rewarded by such suc

make its editorials conservative and in the
interest of the whole country, to oppose fac

the South, to make the news department
unrivalled iu accuracy as well as enterprise,
to avoid everything sensational and all per

the paper a deserving as well as a popular
Col. W. T. Thompson, whose connection

Mr. Theodore Blois, long and lavorably
known iu that capacity, will continue in
charge of the Business Department.

SODA WATER.
$25 rTwARD
TOE proof to convict any person of trafficking in
the following described Bottles; “
Having recently, at a great expense, gotten up an
entire new sett of moulds in which my
SODA WATER, PHILADELPHIA POR
TER, AND ALE BOTTLES
are made. Each of than* Bouton have my name and
the year 1866 blown in the glass. The mould lwiny
my private property no other person can purchase
bottle* made In them. I neither sell nor give away
any ol those Bottles.
NO OTHER PERSON HAS A RIGHT
TO DO 80.
I simply lend them to those whopnrchsse the con
tents. with the understanding that they are tobe re-
turned to me when empty.
This is well nnderstood by nil, yet many, regard
less of their ]nst obligations, frequently lend or Mil
those bottles with the Sods Water or other liqnlds,
thereby depriving me of my property and suhfectlng
me to losses which are unjust and unlawful.
Thoae Bottles are now very expansive, rendered
more so by the Patent Cork Fastaoer attached to and
lost with every bottle which 1 lose, together with the
many taxes Imposed upon this species of business
the most oppressive of which is • direct tax or six
per cent, to the Government on gross sales or Soda
or Mineral Water, which reduces the ptodts so much
that itis impossible, at present prices, to submit to
the loss of Bo tries, and f do hereby caution all per
sons against baying, selling, Ailing, with liquids, or
in any manner depriving me of the use or said Bot
