day in the Freedmen’a Court, there being bnt one
ease of any importance. A suit was brought against
Mr. Jas. O'Hara by one Jno Johnson, freedman. fer the
recovery of a mule. Judge Stone ordered that the
mule be turned over to the freedman upon the condi
tion that he give security to the amount of three hun
dred dollars to have the mule forthcoming in case of
any suit that may be brought by defendant againat
plaintiff within the next four years.
Whit of Possession.—Justice Philip M. Russell
yesterday issued a writ of possession in favor of H. E.
Langs, controller, vs. John Daley, for tho recovery of
a mule. The mule has been seized by officer Isaac
Ruasell, and an examination will be bad on Wednes
day next. The animal in question was bought by de
fendant among a lot of mules from a responsible
party in Augusta some time since.

Absconded from his Bond.—Francis Bland, alias
Frank Bland, who was under bond in Augusta, Rich
mond county, upon a charge of robbery, and who left
that county without leave, was yesterday arrested in
this city upon a bench warrant sent from Augusta.
Officers Buckner and Barthelmess apprehended
Bland and brought him before Justice John A. Staley.

103rd IT. S. C. T.—This regiment, detachments of
which have been on duty In various parts of the
State, was yesterday mustered out of service at Fort
Pulaski. Col. Bogart isaued a farewell order to the
regiment, and was made the recipient of a testimonial
of respect and esteem from the officers and men of
his oommand.

with various offences, from murder down, were yes

Flour, Ac.—Tho market'for western snd stats flour
is leas active. Sound low and medium grades are bat
ter. Family brands are unchanged. The sales are
7.500 bbls at $6 50a7 25 for superfine state; the latter
rate for choice round hoop; $7 25a7 65 for extra state,
branded; $7 70ai 26 for fanoy state; $7 2oa8 for the
low grades of western extra; $8 30a3 75 for shipping
Ohio; {8 80al2 for trade and family brands; and {11
90al6 for St. Louis extras.
Canadian flour is more active and 5al0c better; ealee
of 450 bbla at $7 60a7 95 for the low grades of extra;
and {8 10al2 for trade and family extras.
Southern flour is in fair demand and 10 to 15c better -
sales of 750 bbla at $9 15al0 35 for mixed to good
auperflne country Baltimore Ac.; and {10 40al5 50 for
trade and family brands.
Rye flour is dull; sales 200 bbls at $4 25a5 20.
Corn meal is steady; sales of 400 bbla at {3 C5a3 70
for Jersey, and $4 35 for Brandywine.
Grain.—The wheat market js firmer bat quiet, as
the extreme prices insisted upon checks business.
Tbe demand is confined to millers only. The sales
are 35,600 bushels at {1 05 for No. 1 Chicago spring, in
store; {1 61 for old Milwaukie Club do; $1 63 for fair
amber do. in store; and $171 for choice; {195 for
new red western; $2 40 for state. *
Oats are held .with more firmness, but are quiet,
owing to the deeliue in gold. The demand is mode
rate and chiefly confined to the home trade. The
sales are 23,000 bushels new western at 42»48c; old do
at 5Ca58c; state at 61a63c; Jersey and southern at
51a54c.
Rye is firmer and in fair demand. The sales are
7,800 bushels western at «So iu etore; and state at
84a85c.
Corn is held higher, but tha advanced prices iusisted
upon and the decline in exchange check busines. The
demand is chiefly for the home trade. The saies are
10.500 bushels western mixed at 82e in etore, and 85c
delivered.
Provisions.—Tbe pork market has been rather dull
at about yesterduy’s figures, closing barely steady at
our inside prices. For future delivery we note 2,000
bbls, seller this mouth, at $25 02 ‘ja25-G8Ji. The sales,
cash and regular, are 4,000 bbls at {25 25 for old mess
in small lots; $25 G2' a a27 75 for new mess; $22 for
prime; $26 for western prime mess.
Beef is steady and sells well in small lots; sales of
450 bbls at $ llal4 for old plain mess; $16al9 50 for
new do; $13al0 for old extra do; and $20a24 for new
do.
Tierce beef is quiet and nominal.
Beet hams arc steady and moderately astive; sales
of 125 bbls at $38a38 50 for western.
Cut meats are steady but not veryactivo; sales of
200 pkgs at lOj^allc for shoulders; and 16j£al7c for
hams, tho inside figures for very heavy.
Bacon is quiet but steady; salos of 100 boxes short
ribbed at 15 ‘Jc.
Lard is held with considerable firmness, but is quiet;
sales of 300 bbls and tiercs at 18i 4 al8?„c for lair to
prime steam and kettle rendered—the latter rate an
extreme.
Ashes.— r lhe market is dull and unchanged. We
quote at $6 75a7 for pote; and $12 25al2 50 lor pearls.
Coffee.—Wo hear of no sales, but prices are* un
changed.
Cotton.—The market to-day is quiet at 37 Qa3<J Qu for
middlings.
Hay.—The market is a little firmer under a good de
mand and light arrivals. Sales at 55aG5o for shipping.
