Magistrates Couuts.—Nora Cope, charged with
infantiolde, was examined yesterday before Justices
Russell and Hart. The testimony was the same as that
shotted at tha Coroner's Inquest. The Court withheld
its decision in the oose until to-day.
Before Justice Staley, the cases of John Debrau,
EU Mobley, and Cynthia Mobley, were examined,
charged with larceny. . From the testimony adduced
it appears that Mrs. Elng had bought six oows and
alx calves from Mrs. Mobley, and had paid seventy:
five doliars for them on aooount, receipts for which
amount were produced in oourt. Four witnesses alto
testified to having seen the money paid and a bill of
sale given. After the money had been paid, and prior
to the removal of the cows from tha pen by Mrs.
Elng, arrangements had been made by Mrs/ Mobley
to resell them, Debrau and Mobley being accesso
ries. After hearing the testimony of the witnesses of
both parties in the case, Mrs. Mobley, and Debrau and
Mobley, were all turned over to the Superior
Court for the offence of laroetiy.. The parties subse
quently came together and amicably settled the case,
whereupou the charge was withdrawn.
Samuel Knight, (colored) charged with stealing a
gold watch and several articles of dlothing, was alio
examined before Justice Staley. The evidence in the
case being poiltiro against the prisoner, he was com
mitted to jail to answer to the charge of iaroany be
fore the Superior Court.
