Mr. F. Broadbacker announces in another
column a prize shooting to occur at his plaoe
on Lover’s Lane, on the Fourth of July, lor
four prizes; and Mr. F. Brickman advertises

The shooting commences at 2 P. M., and the

Burglary.
One of the most daring cases of burglary that
has come within our knowledge for some time,
wss perpetrated on Saturday night last. On the
night above mentioned the second west door on Bay
street, of the store of Messrs. Randall & Co., corner of
Bay and Barnard streets, was broken open and a parly
of burglars entered the store. After effecting their
entrance they proceeded to the money draw, which they
broke open and rilled of fifteen cents in change bUla.
Not satisfied with that sum aud no doubt thinking that
th"' safe would yield better reward for their enterprise,
they made several attempts to break it open, but
failed, probably lrom fear of creating too mnch
noise. Being perfectly blockad in the money line,
they procured two bottles of wine from the store and
carried them into the office where they were imbibed.
They then helped them9eives to cigars, and must have
remained long enough to enjoy a smoke os several
old cigars were found near to the empty bottles, and
the cigar boxes Bliowed signs of having been indulged
in pretty freely by the burglars. There is no doubt
that the burglars are experts at the business , as the
money drawer and safe on which they had been at work
showed signs of the use of burglars’ tools.
