the very best light draft steamboat builders in the
United States. Double engines; 16 Inch cylinder; 6
feet stroke: draft, 18 inches; capacity, too bales cot
ton; 7 months old.
The Steamer TWO BOYS was constructed by the
same baUdersaml In the same substantial manner; is
130 feet long overall; 36 feet wide over ail; doable
engines; cylinder, 16 Inches; 6 feet Btroke; draft, 14
inches; 9 months old; capacity. 450 bales cotton.
The HARDEE and the TWO BOYS have each ac
commodations of the best kind for thirty passengers,
with state rooms, furniture, Ac., complete, and are
ready for work at a moment's notice. They have
been running on the Altamaha, Ocmnlgee and Sa
vannah Rivers for the past six months, and their
substantial construction and light draft admirably
adapts them for the navigation ol these waters or
any ottlie shallow rivers of the South.
The Steamer WM. G. GIBBON8 was burned on the
Savannah River. Her boll, machinery, boiler, Ac.,
were only slightly Injured, and are now in thla oity
and can be seen at any time by applying to the nn
de reigned.
The three Boats will be sold separately. Terms as
follows: One-fourth payable In two months; one-
Ciry Taxes assessed by the ordinance of the 27th
of December, 1865—as well those that are payable
monthly as those made payable quarterly, ail of
which arc hereinafter slated. The citizens who have
not paid the lax due upon their real estate for the
whole year, may now pa v the amount due for the
quarter ended on the 30th day of June, or for the
residue of the year.
On gross sales of merchandise (including sales of
liquor) except cotton, a per cent.
On gross sales of cotton, 1 -10 per cent.
On all commissions derived from any business
transaction (other than merchandise) by any factor,
auctioneer, looker, forwarding, shipping or gommtn,
sio i merchants, t per cent.
Ou all Incomes derived from salaries and the pur
suit of any profession, faeultx. trade or culling what
soever, except from real estate, 1 per cent. .
On gross receipts of nny business transactions, not
included in the foregoing, and Including all insur
ance companies and agencies, gas companies, ex
press companies, cotton prerees, hotels ami restaur
ants, 1 per cent.
On all receipts for freight or passage money which
are payable hi this city, 1 per cent.
On grots earnings of every bank, bank ageney or
hankers, 1 percent.
On every horse and mule, except thoso actually
used in wagona, drays, trucks or other vehicles, for
which badges may have been taken out, one dollar
per month.
Ou evary dog. three dollars per annum
On the value of all furniture. Jewelry and plate
worth over three hundred dollars, 1 per cent.
Every male resident tietween the ages of twenty-
one and sixty years, except only inch as may be enti
tled to reglafry and to vote at citv election*, ,Bri who
shall register their names and pay for the same, one
dollar per annum.
On real estate, 1 per cent.
