fect manner. His salt water baths are a great desid
eratum, and many people visit Thunderbolt for tbe
express purpose of enjoying them. He has bowling
aUeys, a well-furnished bar, and boats for those who
desire fishing or other aquatic amusements. We hare
heard many compliments for his place, and take plea
sure In recommending it. The regatta to occur on
Wednesday, promises to be a very interesting one,
and to occasion an nnnsually large attendance.
Quaiunure or the Steamer Savas Shore.—The
steamer Sylvan Shore, Captain Tucker, from Palatka,
4c., came to anchor at the quarantine ground. Tur
ner's Rooks, below Thunderbolt, on Saturday morning
last, with a case of cholera on board.
The case alluded to is that of a negro, and when the
Sylvan Shore was heard from on Saturday evening,
there was no prospects of his recovery. The passen
gers on board the Sylvan Shore, a list of the names of
whom will be found in another column, are all well.
Tbe Sylvan Shore was ordered to Tybea to perform
quarantine, yesterday morning.

Arrival of the Herman Livisgsios.—The steam-

last evening. The Livingston brings an unusually

Committed to Jail.—Toney Williams, the negro
who, while in a difficulty with William Praetor, at fhe
Isle of Hope, < a Friday last, attempted to ahoot him,
was examine s before Justice Levi S. Hart, on Satur
day last- The facta warranting a conviction, Williams
was recommitted to jail to await his trial before tbe
Superior Court.
