We feel it a duty to impress upou every

—That fearful man, Gen. Benjamin P. Butler,
evidently desiring to have another opportu

terms. He declared that by the reb ellion

“If this state of doings cannot be altered

which was applauded by his audience, he de

That tbe Times is not in error on this
point is demonstrated by the notorious fact
that soi ne of the most prominent Union, men
of tbe Pfortb who a few months since were
co-opei atiug with tbe Radicals, are now tbe
prime movers in the great Conservative

it is equally, notorious that nosooner do such

power while the swar Inufed to perpetuate the
Union, and now that the war is over, they
propose to accomplish what they fought for,
and they act accordingly. For this they arc
shnrply denounced Ijy the Radical factionists
and yet there are men in the South who hesi
tate to give moral support to those who are
struggling for our deliverance. To ns this
opposition is. inexplicably strange, when we
have every motive that we can have to fur
ther the success of a movement which con-

the relief of the States from political if not

spreading rapidly, and it is feared will make
serious trouble, if not bloodshed and revolu

A counter organization has been talked of

idea, having seen enough of secret political
anizations.

Similar colored associations, all possessing
muskets, are being formed over the State.
Altogether, matters look favorable for inter-.'

FEVER AND AGUE EXTINGIJISHE.
Martyrs to Intermittent Fever, a word with you. The
responsibility. fur your suffering rests upon your
selves. Just as surely as you shake to-day. or will
shake to-morrow, UOSTETTER’S CELEBRATED
STOMACH BITTERS Witt extinguish the disease un
der which you tabor. Had you taken this genia
tonic as a preventive, you would have n_i need of 1
as a core, for it renders the system impervious to al
miasmatic fevers. But since yon neglected the pre
caution, rid yourselves without delay of the com
plaint by resorting to the only reliable remedy.-
Break the chills with HOSTBTTES'S BITTERS, and
they will return no more. Tins is the experience of
thousands, and it will be yours. Quinine is a slow
means of relief; it Is nauseous to the last degree; it
is more dangerous than the malady Jtself; in many
cases it utterly fails; IIow different is the effect of
tbe Bitteks. Their curative action is rapid; they are
agreeable to tlie palate; they are not only entirely
harmless, but tend inevitably to RrengUten the con
stitution and prolong life; they never hay .- faUed, and
it is confidently assumed that they never can fail in
any case of Fever and Ague, however ttaveterato in
its character. To be without HostetteiJ's Bitters in
