THURSDAY MOBNIXCfc - OCTOBER 18. iqfiA.
An Wd H«i\d.
Blue-veined knwOj and
9his good old band is clasping mine;
I bend above it, and looking down,
I study its aspect, line by li“ e * -
This baud bas clasped * thOtttlld bands
That long have known no answering ttarill;
Some have mouldered taMga iiad^
Some in the graveyard on tbeliiil.
Clasped a motjier’eTrand, in the day
When it was tattle and soft and while— . .
Mother, who kidsed it, hud Went away.
To rest till the waking ia.Uod’s goad light.
Clasped a lover’s band, years agone.
Who sailed away, and left her iq tears;
T'Uderfiftbafa's torrid s«n, ’
Its bones have whitened years and years.
Clasped the band of a goodm&n true,
Who held it softly; and feM asleep.
X nd woke no taiore, and never knew
How long that impress thiq wouldkeep.
Clasped st> many, so many!—so few
That still respond to the living will,
Or can answer this pressure so kind add true 1—
j many thalliauambve»raud still! 3
€l;isped, at last, this hand—my own;
And mine will moulder, too, in tarn,
WttTauy clasfi it when I am gone ?
in vain I study this hand to learn!

STOMACH BITTERS
Are the only Medicinal Tonic in the World of which
that fluid is the stlmnlatinz ingredient.
To Dyspeptic Sufferers.
Under the general head of Dysprpsi/ may be classed
all the varieties or indigestion. Us symptoms are
to various, and differ so much iu dab-rent indivs's as
that it is almost impossible to classify them l%fact,
some of them are utterly Indescribable. It may i.e
safely asserted, however, that half the diseases of
mankind spriDg from a disordered condition of the
stomach; and that, the other half, whatever their
origin, react upon that sensitive and important or
gan. Among the ordinary indications of Dys-pepsia
are flatulency a bloated and full feeling about the
stomach and abdomen immediately after eating, i
gnawing sensation or a sense of hollowness at tint
pit of the stomach between meals, tt heavy dull feci-
ing in the head, feeblo or unsteady appetite, occa
sional natist-j, restlessness during night and a weary,
nnrefreshed reeling on rising i^ the morning, palpita
lion or the heart, depression of mind, sometimes
amounting tc- monomania, loss or memory, confu
sion of thought, spur stomach, with raising of food,
and a choking sensation in the throar, dimness of
eye, pain in the diaphragm, feebleness and disincli
nation for exertion, and sometimes emaciation and a
cdrpae-llke pallor. These are a few of the dtrcd
signs of Dyspepsia, but as it ig generally complicated
with specific affections of the bowels,-the liver and
the verves, its victims have many additional Torments
which are'technically attributed to other causes.
The beat.advice that can be given to any one who
has tho slightest predisposition to Dyspepsia, is to for-
tils his or her digestive organs by the daily use of
Hostetler’s Bitters.
Tbe diaefipe proceed! from a lack of vigor in its
itomsebp and thte vitalizing preparation will tone
aaA renovate that organ. It the gastric apparatus is
in good working order, and can perfectly dissolve
and thoroaghljr assimilate the food submitted to us
operation, there will be no Dyspepsia. If it cauuot
do this, it requires reinforcement, and the best of all
reinforcing agents should be forthwith resorted to.
Th# stomach is the commissariat of the system. It
applies the elements of life t > the whole body. 1°
It is prepared tbe material of Wood, muscle, bon?
and fibre, and if it fails to purvey that material in
qoontity, and of # proper kind, the whole body &
fem, and with it the mental faculties. Therefore pro
tect the commissariat depart ment. Don’t let the en-
«my obtain pos»esMon of it. It is eas*er to prevent
disease from getting into an organ than to exp**l it
after it becomes a chronic fixture. Consider M
first indication of uneasiness in the stomach as i
sign that Dyspepsia is preparing to attack, and baff J
it at once with the GBBAT REPELL ANT.
Bat If It is too late to prevent remember that it is
not too to care. It is' believed that there is :io
cos# of Chronic Indigestion that can withstand t ie
remedial operation of
Hostetler’s Stomach Bitters,
1Ua tottel la giotraiMd on twelve years’ experts *

dressed to the proprietors from ail parts of tiie I'nite-
States sad South America, would at least indent
one letter expressing disfatWact i n. But no, there
tt kot owl. The testimony, extending overs period
of saare tttefl a dozen years, is all of tiie approve?
tenor. Certainty this is a saffleient warrant for
