NO OTHER PERSON
HAS A RIGHT TO DO SO.
From time to time, for many years, I have notified
parties receiving from me their supplies of Soda Wa
ter, Porter and Ale that I furnish them only on condi
tion that they become responsible for the bottles, and
return them when empty. A contrary course would
be inconsistent, as I charge but 75 cents per doaen for
the contents; while the actual cost of the bottle, with
the patent fastener attached, and which la lost with
each bottle lost, is 15 cents, or $t 80 per dozen. My
actual weekly lose of bottles at the present .time la
from one to two hundred dozen, or about (300. These
are facts, and cau be vouchrd tor by those in my em
ploy and proven by my books, also by statement* from
the gt-ss manufacturer*, which will show the thou
sands of dollars annually paid them by me for those
bottlos which have been lost, without any remunera
tion by those to whom they were entrusted, and who
attach ao little value to them, simply beoaiue they
have never been compelled to pay for any. But they
rbould bear in mind that they may at any time be
brought to an account.
My best effort*—and, in fact, the beat part of my
life lias been devoted to this business, aud with a de
sire to conduct it in such a manner as to give general
satisfaction to all, and to furnish all articles in my
lino (which I have done) at as low a price and of a su
perior quality to any similar articles offered, finch
has been my past, such shall be my future course;
and in now asking my patrons to be more careful ef
my bottles, and return them all to me when empty, I
simply ask my rights. Those tailing to oomply with
my very just demand win be compelled to do ao le
gally. Respectfully.
