tmn the Southern Righto table will be suffi

whom they have so long spurned from their
bourd. It strikes us that «the Southern.

them, have repented too late. 1 he day for | f or( j 3 abundant evidence that
reconciliation lias^ passed. Men of courage j g„j no hiding place in our comUiuuity —
They wero taken charge of by offr -citizens,
and conducted back to the scene of the o'nt-
and principle will be content with nothin,
but absolute equality and justice. They
will consider it an effront to have offered to
them one voiee on the electoral ticket when
they demanded five.
During the conference at Atlanta, the
Executive Committee of the Southern Rights
wing informed their Union brethern that
they did not possess the power to change
their electoral ticket—and added the follow
ing memorable words ;
♦« We have diligently sought information
from all parts of the State, and the result is
a firm conrietion that any change at this
time in the Electoral Ticket would weaken
rather thaa strengthen the cause, in which
we in common with ypurselvcs arc enlisted.’’
It may be inquired, if « any change” at
that tisM ••would weaken rather than
strengthen the cause,” what has since oc
