To the Voters of the 7th Hist. A consciousness of tho fact that tho electiou to bo bold next Tuesday will decide a question of vitnl interest to tho great mass of the voting popula tion iu our district, prompts mo to write this urticlo. You will bo oallod upon to decido whether you will sub mit longer to tho mandates of offico seeking politicians irrespective of the dictates of your own judgment, or break through tho poworful ring, that has so long encircled you, aud by vot ing for tho man of your choice, declare yoursolvos. freemen. By voting for Col. Dabney,t lie ring which ondoavor- to force Col. Trammell upon you will bo triumphant, and you simply ac knowledge your inabilities to judge for yourselves. Tho uiisorrblo subter fuge resorted to by tho Romo con vention iu taking Trammell down aud putting Dabney in the field, is too thin. The toll you they havo acceded to your demands in removing tho obnox ious candidate, and giving you a good man; and by this dodge, vainly hopo to decoy you from tho man of your choice, tie you on to Dabney, aud build up tho declining fortuuos of tho Brown Trammell ring. It is claimed that Col. Dabney is not a ling man, that ho is uo politician, and belongs to no clique or faction. In reply to this, wo ask, whore did Col. Dabney stand when Trammell was the so called nom inee ? If ho did not belong to tho ring, why did ho support Trammell when tho pooplo, in their might, were rising against him ? If Col. Dabney is such a good man, and so unobjec tionable in every respect, why was ho not nominated at Calhoun ? Was ho not as well known then us now ? It is ovidonco to every thinking mind, that ho belonged to tho faction that supported Col. Trammell, else why did not tho Romo convention nominate Dr. Felton, who tlioy must havo known was a man accoplahln to tho people in every way ? Because Dr. Felton was opposed to rings, aud tho politicians wore dotominod to rulo or ruin. And now, fellow-citizens, when Dr. Felton has fought your light, when lie has wielded tho political battlo-axo in your defense, and broken down the strong walls of political corruption which surrouudod you, exposing tho Iraud aud trickery by which these combinations aro kept up, is it right to desert him? Now is tho timo for you to act, only one more plank re mains to buoy up tho miserable hull of a boat iu which political Tricksters have been llouting into office. And it is in your power, by one ui«>ro mighty effort, to break this last prop from under it, and sink it so deep that tho most hungry office seeker of the fut ure will never bo able to 4 rcuurroet i(. Then strike while tho iron is hot, mako ono more dosporato charge upon tho ring. Acquit yourselves like men de termined to bo free. Listen not to tho syren voice of tho Dabney faction. Vote for Dr. Felton and tho victory is yours. Quin Nuo. Hurrah for Felton ! 1 ! ! 1,000,000 Dry Hides; 100,000 Sheep Skins wanted by M. F. Govan & Co., Rome, Ga.
