At tho chotion held in our town on
Isat Tuesday, in accordance with the
local option law passed at tho last
session of tho legislature, two hundred
votes wore cast, 121 for restriction,
and 70 against, restriction—18 major

tho only speech that, wo heard of.
lie ‘sproad* himself against restriction;
said town was tho place to sell whis

his speech had no perceptible effect.
Tho result of this election speaks vol

majority of our people are opposed to
whisky, the groat curse of our land—-
and is another indue, ment to good,
sober people to come in and east their
lots with us, and hip build up our
prosperous town. Wo holii vu that at
least four fifths of our white rili/.rns
who voted in this election, oust their
votes foe restriction.
