As so much is said concerning
silver miucs in thin section, it would
probably be interesting to some to
know tho Indian legend connected
with that mineral. It is us follows.:
About forty years ago there was an
old Indian living iu or near Cave
Spring, who revealed the secret to a
white man. that there was a rich silver
miuo iu this section. The wbito man
endeavored to got tho secret, but tho
Indian refused lo reveal it. The Iu
diiiu finally consented Lo carry him to
it; so he blindfolded him and curried
him into u cave, where he says lie saw
greas massoH of tho precious inotul.
But us ho was again blindfolded be
fore being lod out, ho could never find
his way hack to tho cavo. lie says
all lie can remember that would serve
to assist in finding it was, that he
crossed tho water twice. Tho same
Indian said that there was iron ore up
little Cedar valley almost puro enough
L > fay a plow, which has proved to ho
true, and so* may the silver legend.
