R .v J. W. Trawiel: organized a
church (Methodist) at Ejoin Hill, on
last Sunday, with fji ly members,
thirty-threo of whom won now con
verts, the ic ult of a pro'.rated moot
ing held there by him last week.
Tbero were throe more applications
for membership; and when these and
the scattering members who oxpcct
to come in am added, the church w ill

week’s work. There wore, altogether,
about forty-eight conversions.
Dr. Wm. Bradford, of Cavo Spring,
and John C. Allen, of our town, will
open a drug store, in Mr. Allen’s now
building oppoilo Mr. Huntington's
store, about tho first of next month.
From tho acquaintance wo have with
Dr. Bradford, wo can fully reccorn-
mend him to tho confidence of our
citizens, aud gladly welcome him.
Mr. Allen is well known by all to bo a
reliable, thorough going business man,
aud needs no recommendation from
us. Wo wish them success.
Mr. Huntington is having erected,
within one hundred yards of tho pub
lic spring, just below the same, and
on tho north side of tho branch, a
building to be used for a gin house.
The sumo is to bo 30 X G4 feet, and

the go-a-headitiveness of Mr. H. that
he will make u a success.

New Cotton.—Tho first halo cf tho

tiuio t ho probability is that other ma
chinery will ho added. Wo suggest
that they add an agricultural imple
ment and farm wagon factory; also a
ijuano factory. If our people would
rniso their own supplies, and manu
facture their own farm implomouls--
plows, wagons, nxo handles, etc., etc.,
aud manipulate their own guano, wo
would have but few advocates of
"inflation." Just so long as our farm
ers rniso cotton to buy moat and broad,
clothing, plows, wagons, nxo and boo
handles, and oven the coffins in
which they deposit tho Inst roninius of
their friends when thoy die, and semi
