Carolina that the Returning Board el

and mandamus issued from the Supreme
Court of said State, restraining l'e

them by ibe county Boards, and issuing
certificates to those that nppgpr to have
the requisite number of votes to elect,
and the mandamus compelling thorn to!
act in accordance with said orders, and
to make returns to said Court of the per- 1
sons that appear to bo elected ; and that I
each house be the judges of the election
ol members ot its own body. Held a
secret meeting on yesterday and threw
out the counties of Edgefield and Laurens,
that had large Democratic majorities,
and certified to the election cf Hayes’
Electors, and returned Chamberlain as
elected Governor, and enough Radicals
to make both Houses of the Legislature

The Court lias ordered the Board to
make returns to it. of all its actings and
doings, aud especially oj the names ot
persons that appear to be elected to the

Boaad. Tho order has been violated and
it remains to be seen whether the l omt

cording to the law and the rights of the
