Tho freaks oi a Butts oounty youth are thus deoribed Uy tho Monroo Advertiser: “Wo life called upon to refiort an act of' lawlessness which would havo disgraced iin inhabitant of the most barbarous country known. A young man named Tnmier, liviug in Butts county, onine to town on Saturday and drank enough liquor to mako him vary drunk. In tho afternoon lie left town for homo, in n wagon with somo negroes. When nearly out of town, lie passed the resi dence of Mr. W. B. Amos, nnd seeing a negro woman in tho yard lie pulled out his pistol nnd tired at tho woman. Tho hall misBeil her nnd struck the house, Mrs Amos, hunrTng tho noise, came nut of tho house to nscertnin the oiiuso. Tanner jumped from the wagon, rau nearer tho houso and fired his pistol at Mrs. Amos. Fortunately I10 missed his aim. Tho Marshal was in tho neighbor hood and in-rested Tanner nnd brought him up town, when Mr. Amos procured a warrant ami had him commitod to jail. Later in the afternoon the Doputy Sheriff, not knowing that Tauner was pon lined in tho lower room of the jail, loft tho front door open. The s!Cribs which, swept over r large portion of tlio Cumin- on tho 8tli inst, cxioiuliiig from (lie gulf states to Canad-i. seem lo have a common origin in somo tre mendous distui'hiiuoc in the Mex ican sea. In Alubiiraa wjrjiist hear of tlio tornado in Tallapoosa county where, otpano plantation,' two per sons wore killed outright, and all tlio houses demolished. This storm passed over tho couutry iu a iim-heuslerly direction. At the same moment a parallel storm passed Irom F|orda into Georgia, anil its conrs has been traced ns far ns Jefferson county. It passed through the counties of Thomas and Daugherty, mid in portion of those was exceedingly severe. In addition to thuso, there is evidence of a thoird disturbanc; which entered Georgia through Quitman county and going to wards th<i Northeast. In some ol tho counties over whicli these counties passed iho distress occa sioned has been so'serious ns In call for tlio assistance of tlio char itable, a call that will uo duupt he promptly mot.
