The Convention
Meets on to-morrow at 12
o’clock m. It is the ablest body of
men that ever met in a deleberate
fctipttihty in Ga., there are many
. questions of deep and abiding in
terest to the people of the Htate,
that they will be met and treated
in a masterly and patriotic manner
no one can doubt a moment who
knows the men that compose the
Convention. The first thing they
will do is to choose a President,
to preside over them. No one
doubts rvho that will be, provided
he allows his name to go before
the body, for Charles J. Jenkins,
is the choice of the whole people
and will we dare say receive rt
unanimous vote. If Mr. Jehltins
is not run then we siippose Genl.
A, R. LaS’ton, of Safannah will
be the man, and rt goo'll oificer he
will make. Gefil; Toombs would
hot accept the place we learn, if
