A resolution was passed order ing the sum of one hundred and twenty-eight dollars paid to E. B. Waters, due him for interest due on bonde held by him ou the town of Butler and the coupons ordered burned. The following resolution waa adopted: Resolved—'That by the resolu tion of Council passed at the meeting of March 14th (1878) it not intended to iutimate that the Marshal, C. A. J. Pope, bad failed to account for any part of the money he had collected for special tax from Robinsoa's Circus but that laid Marshal had failed to collect the sum of five dollars to whioh th* laid Circus was sub ject under the Ordinances of this Counoil and that we hereby ex- houorate him irom such implica tion as the before-said resolution seems to involve him in.
