The letter to befountl in anoth er colqma written by “Granger,” from Camilla, Ga., was formerly a citizen of Taylor county, and whose name would be familiar to everyone were we to give it. Crop* in Taylor. . From the early part of the spring up to three weeks ago we have re ceived the news of the most flat tering prospects of all manner of vegetation that has been known in this county for quite a number of ysarsj the farmers generally seem ed to think that their lands could not produce a tnsre bountefrtl yield, but in the last three weeks there seems to be rather a change of mind. They do aot wear that smiling appearance which they did in the early part of the spring. But we cannot see why they should not feel eneonraged. It is true we have had neatly three weeks of dry and disageeatdy warm weather, and no doubt the crops hate been injured toa certain extent, but from ail information tvu have gained from farmers in different parts of the county, the crops of both corn and cotton, are remaikablv good, in fact, much better than for sev eral years past, as we have not suffered for rain as some portions of the .State, We feel confident therefore to state that a sufficient quantity of corn will he made in this county to amply supply the demand. Our Agent.' We are pleased to state that Bev. J., A. J. Kimball, has kindly concented to become an ageut for the Hkrald at Cedar Creek. All persona wishing to subscribe or to reuew their subscription in (hat part of the county, will please do so through Mr. Kimball, who is doing a good work for us there.
