This excellent gentleman, bating lecently purchased the Montfort build ing on the northwest corner of the public square, has removed bis entire stock of goods from the Holbrook buil ding to that of the former, where he is conutsntlt receiving fresh supplies of choice dry goods aud groceries for the accommodation of his many friends and customers and earnestly solicits their patronage. Harvey &■ Cosby, near Box Spring, in Talbot county, was consumed by lire, together with about 200. 000 feet of lumber. We heard no particulars as to the origin of the lire, and are BOrry to hear of their luss.—Columbus Times, The Times also states that Mr. H. H. Cosby, has been to the city contracting with the Columbus Iron Works for the necessary ma chinery to replace that destroyed The mill will be running agaiu in about ten of fifteen dayB. Every reader of this paper, will doubtless refer back to some happy day in the past, spent on an occasion of this kind. We hope every one will render what assistance they can. If they do, we will have such a splendid time, that they will gladly welcome the return of another similur affair. Hard if Fair. A young man near here agreed to break a yoke of young steers for another man. She was a model woman in more respects than one and those who knew tier best loved her most. She was the writers nearest neighbor or friend. Her character combined the true, the beautiful, and the good. Our warmest sympathies are extended to tho bereaved husband and soil. On Sunday evening last, at 4 o'clock,Mr Young Harris breathed his laBt, at his residence near Ge neva, in the 47th, year of hia age from a diseass from which he had been a sufferer for many years. Mr. Harris had only returned few dayB previous to his death from Andersonville and Mottteim ma, where he had been engaged with Messrs. Armor & Paschal in the brick business. His health was too feeble to attend to busi ness. The deceased leaveB a wife and six children to mourn their irreparable lose. To the Citizens of Taylor County.
