Ay morning with Judge J. T
Willis, of Talbotton on tho bench.
This being ,tiie first time that
Judge Willis has. presided ut this
.oourt, notwithstanding the ti rrible
wind which prevailed during the
entire day, rendeiing everything
greatly disagreeable, quite early
there were tunny people upon our
streets; the busy farmer, the mer
chant an I tho mechanic. About
10 o’clock couit was culled to ordur
and soon the spacious room was fill
ed with anxious listen ters to hear
the charge by Judge WilliB to the
Grand J ury. Those who werefortnu-
ate to hear this uniquo and eloquent
charge were fortunute. That por
tion of the charge referring to whis
ky, drunkenness, gambling and
oonoealed weapons, was the most
forcible that we have ever heard,
and met with a hearty response
from every citizen of our town. In
fact the entire charge was til ed
with wisdom, justice and modera
tion. For many years past this
gentleman has bceu held iu the
highest esteem by our people, and
ly his pleasant, luaueers ami emi -

community. To him alreudy we
return thunks for the unprecedent

Jury was empaneled wiili Capt It.
G. Tomlin a- foreman. The body
is composed of our most in'ellig-uit
citizens, and we look fur great
results from this body. Up to'
date there has not been much bus
iness of importance transacted iu
the court room, aud we will uol
attempt to give a list of the cases
at present. We notice in utteod-
