BUTLER, GEORGIA
From The Local Board,
Taylor County, Ga,
Any registrant, his father,
mother or brother, who desires
information regarding the regis
trant’s number or otherwise, the
board will gladly furnish you with
same.
The work of this board has
been exceedingly hard and tedious
and we might add, with very little
pay connected with it.
It has been our motto to treat
every registrant, both white and
colored, with the same con
sideration and to consider each
case without partiality, favor or
affection, reward or the hope
thereof.
Numerous reports of dissatis
faction have reached the board j
and even threats to have it in
vestigated—the latter we welcome.
Any registrant who desires to file
a claim for deferred classification
need not go to the expense or
trouble to hire a representative to j
come before us, for we will gladly j
furnish you with any information j
and necessary blanks, and if your
case deserves merit, vve will take
whatever step necessary to pro
mote it.
From now on we will absolute
ly refuse to consider a claim pre
sented by any representative,
other than those immediately in
terested in the registrant, for we
feel that a great deal of the dis
satisfaction has been caused by
the representatives who are like
the lawyer, when he loses his
case, curses the judge and jury.

Capp’s Orchestra.
Mr. Cappel has made orchestra
his life study. Through his in- j
ventive genuis, he has been able i
to secure artistic effects, by means J
of a small orchestra which are j
usually confined to larger organ-1
izations. This company is com- ■
posed of five real American mu
sicians, each of whom plays three
or four different instruments. By
frequent changes in the presen- J
tation of a single number, thej
widest range of instrumentation
is secured. Capp’s Orchestra will
appear in two concerts on the
opening day of the Chautauqua at
Butler, and will be one of the
most attractive features of the
entire three days.
The purpose of Capp’s Orchestra
is to play a program that will en
tertain, uplift, educate, bring
pleasant thoughts to the minds of
some and sweet memories to oth
ers. They desire to deliver a
message of patriotism, inspiration
and happiness, and to make people
glad that they came to the Chau
tauqua. The appearance of this
fine group of manly fellows ought
to do a great deal toward stim
ulating the musical interest in our
community. The music which
Capp’s Orchestra will bring to us
will not be so classical that it will
not be popular, but it will not be
so popular that it will be consid
ered cheap. The familiar folk
songs of the South and the favorite
airs of the operas are so arranged
on the same programs that the
effect is very pleasing, and every
one made happier on account of
having heard the music of these
young men under the direction of
Mr. Cappel.
Don’t fail to hear this celebrat
ed orchestra at the Chautauqua,
May 11, 13 and 14.

families who have accomplished daughters, you would
find that in practically every instance a bank account is
started for their education when they were children.
You envy such people, so will your children when they
grow up unless they have the same advantages. So think
