THE OCEAN
Rosalyn Prager, Miami, Fla.)
How blue it is, how clear it is
How white it churns the foam,
How roaring deep, how calm it sleeps
As the small, white shells doth
roam .
How wide it seems, just like a stream
Or brooks that overflow.
And the rippling breeze, sings a song
,of the trees,
As the wind doth softly blow.
like
million
How clear it looks,
brooks,
This great, wide beautiful sea,
As it spreuds its great, strong arms
to the sun,
As a beautiful entwining tree.
This great, rough, ocean so blue and
so wild,
Holds many and many a grave,
Of many a woman, man or .child;
Rolled about by the tossing waves.
i love this great wide beautiful sea
And ever want to depart
For its fresh air scent and wonderful
scene,
Shall ever be in my heart. ■
