last Friday. Messrs Phillips Bryan

The many friends of Mr. H. K.
Sealy will be glad to know that he
is improving since undergoing a ma
jor operation at the Plains hospital
recently.
Mr. Paul Hodges went to Atlanta
Friday to bring his wife and daugh
ter home. His daughter, Virginia,
has been under the care of Dr. Saul
for several duys.

are sorry to earn of her death which 1
occurred in Atlanta Friday. Her re

CIRCLE NO. ONE MEETS
WITH MRS. ANTHONY
'Crncle No. 1 met Tuesday after
noon at the home of Mrs. S. D. An
thony. Minutes were read and dues
collected. Visits, trays, flowers and
help reported and a goodly number
of each reported.
There were ten members and one
visitor presnt at this meeting. The

joiner using Psalms 57 and 66 A
reading from Voice, Weyman Hucka-
bee’s interviews of Kagawa given by
Mrs. Robert Bell. A reading, “Go

CROWELL H. D. C. HOLDS
BENEFICIAL MEETING
The Crowell H. D. C. held one of
the most enthusiastic and beneficial
meetings of the year at the home of
Mrs. J. F. Young Friday afternoon.
A demonstration was given by
Miss Leonora Anderson, Home Dem
onstration Agent, on making cheese
at home. This is one of the many
economical demonstrations that Miss
Anderson has taught the house wives
in her “Live At Home” program that
she has put on in Taylor county for
the past few years.
After the business meeting was
held a report was given by the va
rious committees. Games and music
were enjoyed by all for a while.
Then the hostess in her own charm
ing manner, assisted by Mrs. How
ard Fulton and Mrs. Osgood Young,
served a delightful salad course with
coffee.
The next meeting of this club will
be held at the home of Mrs. D. E.

ICE CREAM PARTY FOR
FOR SEVENTH GRADE
PUPILS CROWELL SCHOOL
The sixth grad pupils of Crowell
school entertained the seventh grade
with a delightful ice cream party at
the Crowell school building Friday
afternoon from three-thirty to six-
thirty o’clock.
The class room was beautifully
decorated with pink honeysuckle and
violets, carrying out the class col
ors.
When the guests arrived they were
gracefully received by the sixth
grade pupils who gave each one a
card on which little blue umbrellas
were painted ar.d under them written
the words, “April Showers.”
Each member of the seventh grade
chose a partner from the sixth
grade and was given five minutes in
which to see who could make the
most words from “April Showers.”
There was a tie for the prize be
tween Miss Odessa Hinton and Sara
Dell Lucas. Both were presented
with a little basket containing the
poem “Raining” by Robert Loveman.
After the cotest the guests en
joyed games and proms.
Delicious ice cream and cake were
srved later in the afternoon. The
favors were tiny blue and pink um
brellas.
Each guest reported a most de
lightful time and were unanimous in
the assertion that the sixth grade
makes Lovely hosts and hostesses.
