The Girl Reserves conducted successful lunch sale last Saturdd afternoon at the Community HousJ Hamburg, drinks and ice cream wej sold. At eight o’clock the girls staged I Minstrel in the Auditorium, all wl attended had a chance at the qul which was offered as an attendanl prize. Woodrow Cofield was tl| lucky person. After the program donated the quilt to the Girls too. The Girl Reserves wish to thank who cooperated to make the lun| sales and Minstrel a success. Crowell School Notes Last week was examination week. We feel so proud of the averages that the fourth grade made in spell ing that we think it is worth while to publish it in the items. " There were 50 words gven and to ten .of these words, definitions were made. Counting every mistake, there were only 18 mispelled words. There are 12 children in this grade. Eleven of that number made an average above 90. Florence Oneal Carolyn Kilby and Mack Lucas made 99, and Jack Fuller made 100. ! Sewing Cluh Entertained The Sewing Club was delightfully entertained at the home of Mis. O. M. Bazemore. The “sewers” enj yed several hours of pleasant conversa tion around the fireside. The weath er very seldom gets too disagree able for the Sewing Club to meet Mrs. Bazemore was assisted by Mrs. William Childres and Miss Lil lian Bazemore in serving a delicious salad course with tea to about twen ty guests. Mrs. William Childres will enter tain the Club May 16th. The Club will not hold a meeting next week. Gaultney—Allgood Of cordial interest to their many friends is the announcement of the marriage of Miss Dorothy Gaultney, the attractive daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Gaultney, of Butler, to Mr. Vernon Allgood, of Conehatta, Miss, the marriage occurring April 16th in Roberta. The bride is a recent graduate of Butler High school and one i of the most popular members of the social set. The gnoom is .. popular young man of the local CCC Camp. The young couple will leave for Conehatta, Miss., in the near future where they will make their home. Heartiest congratulations are ex tended this happy couple by their numerous friends.
