Windham sympathize with her in
the death of her mother, Mrs. Dris

Mrs. Nell Lucas has accepted a
position as assistant director at the
City and County Hospital at Ameri-
cus.
Mr. and Mrs. Goldstein, of Griffin,
and Mr Silverman, of Atlanta, were
Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. David
Coolik.
Mr. Julius Lunsford has returned
to Athens to resume his studies in
the law school at the University ot
Georgia.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Taylor and
Miss Emily Taylor of Fort Valley,
sipent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. D.
T.. Montfort.
Messrs Phillips Bryan and Will
Camp Sealy have returned to Emory
University, Atlanta, where they are,
medical students.
Miss Susan Bryan has returned to
Agnes Scott College after spending
the holidays with parents, Dr. and
Mrs. S. H. Bryan.
Mr. and Mrs Alton Lifsey, of
Flint, Mich., arrived Sunday to
spend ten days with their parents,
Mr. and Mrs. M. A. Lifsey.
Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Marshall, Sr.,
Mr. and Mrs. W E. Marshall, Jr,
and their respective families have re
turned home from a delightful trip
to Florida.
Miss Kate Hicks, a member of the
faculty of the State University re
turned to Athens last weer. after
spending the holidays with her sis
ter, Mrs. C L. Pyron.
The entire community is gracined
to learn of the improvement of Mr.
R. E. Aultman who has been critical
ly ill in a Macon hospital for several
weeks as the result of an automobile
accident. • i
The many friends of Mrs. J. R
Lovins, formerly of Reynolds but
now residing in Americus, are glad
to know 3he has recovered suffeient-
ly to return to her home from the
hospital.
Mr. J L. Lunsford of Knoxville,
Tenn., and Dr. J. F. Lunsford, of
Preston, were guests of Mr. and Mrs.
J. R Lunsford Sunday. They were
accompanied by Miss Sadie Lunsford
of Preston, and Miss Florence Staple-
ton, of Americus.
Tlie Woman’s Baptist Missionary
Society met at the home- of Mrs. S
B. Liggin Monday afternoon at which
time the following officers were
elected for the year 1935: Mrs. S. B.
Liggin, president; Mrs. R. A. irlnton
vice-president; Mrs B. W. Hinton,
Treasurer; and Mrs. W. T. Whatley,
secretary. After the business meeting
a social hour w'as enjoyed.

The Woman’s Missionary Society
of the Methodist church held its busi
ness meeting Tuesday afternoon,
Jan. 8th, at the church.

and Mrs. Andrew Kirksey. In con
nection with this dialogue the follow

A very interesting letter to the
Society from Mrs. J. W. Perry, was
read by Mrs. Ricks. With heads
bowed a meditation was read by airs.

In conclusion a very beautiful serv
ice in which all members took part,
with Mrs. Carson as leader, with
three lighted candles, the first rep-
rerenting Prayer, second, Service and
the third, Gifts. Pledge cards were
signed.
We were dismissed by repeating
Lhe Lord's Prayer.

J. S Watson recently.
Mrs. J. T. Wadsworth returned
Sunday from a six weeks' stay with
her children in Atlanta.
Friends of Mrs. B. F. Brady regret
to learn that she continues quite ill
with flu and pneumonia

two sons of Griffin enjoyed the holi
days with their parents. They were
accompanied home by Miss Lillie
Roberts who will visit them for
some time.

cently from Birmingham where he

Mrs. S. H. Harris has returned
home after spending a few days in
Birmingham, Ala., with her tfaugh-
ter.
Rev. C. A. Abbott and R. E. Mont-
komery attended services at Mt.
Olive church, Marion County, going
over with Rev. J. L. Whitley Sundaj
afternoon.
We gladly welcome Rev. and Mrs.
H. L. Lumpkin back into our com
munity after their sojourn- in Vien
na for the past several years.
We sympathize very deeply with
Mr. S. J. Hayes and family in the
sad death of their dear wife and
mother, Mrs. S. J. Hayes, which oo-
curred at her home in our commun
ity on Saturday last.
Mr. and Mrs. Lorenza Hutcherson
of Thomaston, spent the week end
with home folks.
Her many friends will’ regret to
learn of the serious illness of Mrs
Molly Plymail. We hope for an early
recovery.

our community we are postponing

benefit of the Norwich M. P. church
