THE BUILDER
A builder builded a temple
And wrought with grace and skill
Columns and groina and arches
All fashioned to work his will.
51en said when they saw its beauty
It never shall know decay
Great is thy skill, O Builder
Thy fame shall endure for aye.
a teacher builded 1 a temple
With "-race ar.d infinite care
Laid each arch with patience
Laid each stone with prayer.
None saw her wonderful -corts,
None knew of her wonderful plan
For the temple the teacher builded
Was unseen by the eye of man.
Gone is the builder’s temple,
Crumbled into the dust.
Low lies the stately pillars,
Food for consuming rust.
Cut the temple the teacher builded
Will last while the ages roll
Vor the beautiful unseen temple
Was a child’s immortal soul,

THE MESSAGE
OF FLOWERS
Flowers have a very definite
message of their own. Ihej de
serve all of the thought and at
tention that a funeral director is
capable of giving. They should be
handled in a way designed to
bring out their greatest beauty.
Because it does mean so
much, and because the family and
friends are entitled to such con
sideration, we devote much time
and thought to the grouping o.f
flotal offerings. We have maae a
special study of this important
feature and hate the equipment
necessary for the most artistic
and attractive arrangement of
flowets by our Mrs. Annie Taylor.
The complimentary remarks of

God. He knew that he was divine. He
knew that he and the Father were
one in identity. He knew that he
would be with God in an unending
eternity. Jesus was fully aware of
his divine character when he washed
his disciples' feet. Jesus knew that he
was going back to his Father. He
came from God and went back to
God. He was aware of the fact that
in the path to the Father's throne
lay Gethsemane, the cross and the
tomb. He was going home to his
lather just as it was fixed before
the world' began. So Jesus’ life, death
and resurrection was not just by ac
cident but by pre-arrangement before
time was. As Jesus proceeded with
the footwashing he came to Peter
and it was then, that Peter did not
want the Saviour to wash his reet
on acount of his own inferiority. In
| nnwser to this objection Jesus simply
: remarked to him that he would know
the meaning of it later on, “What 1
; do thou knowest not now, but thou
! -halt understand later.” There is in
this answer a lesson for us. Let us
! wait and trust and we will be en
lightened.
Regeneration
When Peter refused to let Jesus
wash his feet Jesus let him know
that it was necessary. When he heard
this Peter changed his attitude com
pletely and bared his hands and
wrists for the holy rite. If we are to
have a new birth there must be a
cleansing of heart. Regeneration
means teform, A change of heart
changes the whole character. Salva
tion fixes one for actual service for
the Lord.
Understanding
In his address to the twelve dis
ciples around the table Jesus raised
the question of understanding. “Know
ye what I have clone to you?” What
they had just gone through w-ith
held a great lesson. Did they under
stand i f ? He had pointed them thru
the maize cf humility to the very
highest pinnacle of honor. “All c»
>ou,” urged Peter, “all of you gird
yourself with humility to serve one
another.”
