dle brushes, after which Mrs. Cooper
assisted by Mrs. John Nelson and
Miss Ruth Nelson served a salad
course with ice tea.
The next meeting will be held at
the home of Miss Ruth Nelson on
Thursday, June 4, at 3 p. m.

CHRISTIAN SCIENCE
LF.SSOV-SERMON
“Mortals and Immortals” is the
subject of the Lesson-Sermon which
will be read in all branch Churches
and Societies of The Mother Church,
The First Church of Christ, Scientist,
Boston, Mass., Sunday, May 17.
Among the citations which comprise
the Lesson-Sermon there will be the
folowing from the Bible: “Man that
is bom of woman is of few days, and
full of trouble” (Job 14:1). The Les
son-Sermon will also include the fol
lowing correlative selection from the
Christian Science textbook, “Science
and Health with Key to the Scrip
tures” by Mary Baker Eddy: “This
mortal seeming is temporal; it never
merges into immortal 'being, but fin
ally disappears, and immortal man,
spiritual and eternal, is found to be
the real .man.” (p. 190).
The Rupert Home Demonstration
Club met with Mrs. Lillian McGinty
May 8th. The meeting was opened by
singing the hmyn Onward Christian
Soldiers. The Lord’s Prayer was then
repeated in unison.
There were 18 members and two
visitors present. All business was dis
posed of most important of wihich
was the style show. Mrs. C. E. Oliver
won first prize; Miss Corinne Cooper
second prize; Miss Evelyn Barnes,
third prize and Mrs. J. N. Turner,
fourth prize.
Miss Leggitt gave a demonstration
on using different vases for different
kinds of flowers and also on brushes
made from pine needles. Games were
enjoyed and the date for the fiddlers’
convention was set as Saturday, 8:00
p. m., May 22.
The hostess served ice cream and
cake. The May meeting will be held
at the home of Mrs. J. M. White.
