Holds May Meeting
With Mrs. Barrow
The May meeting of the Jenny
Barrow Circle was held Tuesday af
ternoon at the home txf Mrs. E. L.
Barrow.
The meeting was opened with song
“Love Divine”, and was followed by
prayer by the leader, Mrs C. E.
Whatley.
After a short business session the
following program was rendered:

among the sick we regret to learn.
Friends here of Mrs. George Hug
gins regretted to hear of her death
which occurred in Atlanta last week.
She came to 'Mauk as Miss Naomi
Pelham- several years ago and was
manager of a millinery business for
Mrs. H. S. Wall. Later she and Mr.
Huggins were married and resided
here for several years l-a t e moving
to Atlanta.
It was also a shoik to friends here
of Mr. W. H. Morris, engineer on the
A. B. and) C. Railroad, when they
learned over radio this mqrning of
his tragic death- in the Terminal ho
tel fire, in Atlanta. It will be re
called that 'Mr. Morris narrowly es
caped death about 18 -months ago
when his etugne wrecked and he was
badly burned- and was confined for
several months in an Atlanta Ros-
ptal. It was reported then that
wouta never 'be able to work again
But thru the kind hand of Providence
he recovered sufficiently to return to
his job on the engine and -was male-
ing his fourth trip since going back
to work. And while waiting in At
lanta for the time to arrice to start
his return run back to 75s home n,
Fitzgeald he was trapped in the
hotel- fire. ,
The public is cordially invited to
