The Wesley-Union Missionary So
ciety met at the home of Mrs. W. A.
Spinkis Wednesday afternoon May 18.
The business session was presided
over by the president, Mrs. W. F.
Bembry. Plans were made to sell
their quilt at an early date.
After the business session every-
one enjoyed a most interesting and
helpful program arranged by Mrs.A.
LI. Jarrell. The program -was as fol
lows: Song; scripture by Mrs. Bem
bry; talks by 'Mrs. J. E. Slpinks, Mrs
Fred' Jarrell, Mrs. J. A. Heath, Mrs
Terell Robbins, Mrs. Woodrow Amos

During the social hour Mrs. W A.

BROOKS—JARRELL
Of interest to their many friends
in this section of the state is the
engagement announcement of Miss
Frances Virginia Brooks, of Ellavilie
to Mr. Wilson W. Jarrell of Butler,
the marriage to be solemnized,
Thursday, June 2nd.
Mi-ss -Brooks is the attractive
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. F.
Brooks of Ellaville. She is a gradu
ate of Georgia Southwestern College,.
Americas, and has been' a member
of the Crowell junior high, school
faculty for the past three years.
Mr. Jarrell is the son of Mr.
and Mrs. T. D. Jarrell of Butler.
He has 'been connected with Jarrell I
Department store here for a number j
of years. 1
Mr. Aaron Dreizin entertained the
Senior class of Butler High sohool,
of which he is a member, and- a large
number of other friends with a prom
party at his h-oe Saturday evening,
May 21st.
Approximately fifty guests as
sembled at the beautifully decorated
Dreizin home about eight o’clock.
Twelve fifteen-minute proms were
enjoyed by hhe Seniors.
Several tables of bridge were ar
ranged in, the living room for those
not -taking part in the iproms.
Delicious' fruit punch was served
throughout the evening -by Miss
'Edith Coolik of Reynolds.
At the end of the last prom de
licious ice cream and cake were
served to the guests who were seated
on the lawn. The refreshments car
ried out the class colors of green and
white.
Among the out-of-town guests
present were Misses Bessie and
Miriam Dreizin, Sana Kramer, Eve
lyn Winble, Barbara, Homer, Shir
ley Blouston and Nora Coolik of
Athens; Reta Slating of Glinnwood;
Esther Hashing of Macon; and
Edith Coolik, of Reynolds.

Honored By Children
On Mother’s Day
Sunday, May 8th, at the home of
Mr. ana Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Heath
was a most delightful day as their
five daugnters and two sons and
their families gathered to celebrate
Mother’s Day with iheir parents.

At the noon hour the ram which
had fallen all morning prevented I

table out under the spacious oaks,
so the large old-fashion dining room
table was turned into a picnic table
and was loaded to capacity with gol- I
den blown chicken, country ham and
many other good things to eat, to
gether with refreshing drinks all of
which were furnished by the children
of Mr. and Mrs. Heath.
In the afternoon .pictures were
made of various family groups.
.Members of the family who had
gone on to their Heavenly Home
were not forgotten and) large bowls
of flowers were carried to the ceme
tery and placed on their graves. 1
At an early hour the family circle
began to break as the different ones
made ready to depart for their re
spective homes but not 'before say
ing that they hoped to spend many
more happy Mother's Day with their
parents.

Mr. and Mrs. O. S. Cox entertained
on Sunday, May 8th, with an old-
fashioned barbecue on their farm, in
honor of Mrs. L. P. Reinhart, of
Peru, Indiana; she having been their
guest for several day®.
Thirty guests were present to
meet and welcome Mrs. Reinhart and
who made the occasion one of much
pleasure. These guests included rela
tives and friends of Mns. Reinhart's
late husband, Mr. Lee Reinhart, a
native of Taylor county.
This was Mrs. Reinhart’s first trip
to the Southland when she returned
to Indiana she expressed herself as
being favorably impressed with
Southern friendliness and hospitality
