Deferred sentences of a year each
at the state farm were put into effect
by Judge C. F. McLaughlin at Co
lumbus Monday when three women
were brought back before him charg
ed with breaking probation. The
women were arrested in the recent
rice crusade, and' were: Irene Mc
Carty, Fannie Mae Collins and Lot
tie Newsome, alias Newman, alias
Louise Turner.
The Crowell Garden Club held itc
regular meeting April 3 at 2:30 p-

The major project for out' Club
this year is to beautify our church
yard and cemetery with shrubbery.
Being so late now, little will he done
toward this until Fall. However, we
will set aside a certain sum to be
spent just for shrubs. Then too, each
member will donate pieces of shrub
bery she may have to spare.
In sponsoring the Stamps-Baxter
quartet the Club added $11.80 to our
treasury.
During the social hour a game and'
contest were enjoyed. Mns. J. C. Ful
ler won a lovely handkerchief a<f a
prize in the contest. Late in the
afternoon the hostesses assisted by
Mrs. Robert Cosey served eoca-pol»
and crackers to the guests.

TYPHOID CLINIC BEGINS

We wil! hold a typhoid clinic for
the purpose cf immunizing every
person possible against typhoid fe
ver.
The first clinic will lie held in But
ter at the courthouse beginning on
Friday April 26th, 8 till 12 o'clock
a. m; and for the twe following
Fridays, viz: May 3rd and 10th, at.
same place and hours.
We will hold our second clinic i*
Reynolds on Friday, April 26th, at.
one to three o'clock p. m. This clinic
will be held in the Reynolds school
building.
The price for this vaccine will be
the same as heretofore, seventy-five
cents for three treatments. This:
fee goes to our local physicians for
their services. ,
There will positively be no .full
treatment started for any applicant
after the date of the firet clinic..
We hope that everyone will take
advantage of this opportunity ol
receiving the typhoid vaccine.
