Holds Its Final Meeting

Walter Rogers, 82 years of age,
brought sorrow to his hosts of Tay-
I lor county friends, he having for
! many years been a resident of Rey
nolds and which time he was re
garded as one of the most prominent
physicians of all Middle Georgia.

carried the following account of the
passing of Dr. Rogers:
Dr. Joseph Walter Rogers, 82, Ma
con physician who retired about
three years ago after practicing for
almost .‘10 years in Macon, died lute

Dr. Rogers spent the winter in
Miami, Fla., with his son, Dr. Hun-
I ter B. Rogers, and had been confined
to his bed since his return four
weeks ago.
1 He was bom in Nashville, Tenn.,
Dec. 12, 18T)7, and spent his child
hood in Charlottsville, Va., from
I where he went to Texas as a lad of
' IS. After studying pharmacy work,
he operated drug stores there for a
( time and then obtained his medical
] training in Louisville and New
York city, coming here to practice
in 1911.
His hobby was promoting the edu
cation of young men and women un
able to pay for their own schooling
and friends said lie helped many. He

ized in 1913. Airs. Peterson's subject
was “Hidden Taxes”. She is going
' to follow up this speech in a return
| engagement in October.
