W. M. U. Holds Regular Meet
i The W. M. U. of the Taylor Mill
Baptist church held its regular
! meeting Wednesday afternoon at
the school building. There were
not so many members present at
! this meeting due to weather con-
j dition.
i Miss Tinie McDaniel opened the
meeting with prayer. M— McDan-
j iel also had charge of the devo-
| tional in the absence of Mrs. Her
man Parks who was on this com
mittee. Mrs. McDaniel brought a
.very inspiring message from the
| 53rd chapter of Isaiah. Minutes of
last meeting were read and ap
proved. Roll was called. Under the
head of old businessthe ladies dis
cussed the quilt they had finished
piecing and decided not to piece
another at the next meeting but
to mak something else for the
Orphan's Home. The president ap
pointed Mrs. R. C. Barrow to write
the Baptist Orphans Home and
get a list of articles they could
| make and to present it at the next
meeting.
I After the regular business meet
ing the ladies began to quilt. The
I quilt had already been put on and
, was ready for the ladies to go to
j work. We quilted until 6:30 p. m.
| and finished all but three
squares. Mrs. W. H. Roberson,Mrs
Jake Windham, Mrs. Dan Posey,
and Mrs. J. W. Windham finished
| this Thursday afternoon and the
l quilt is now ready for delivery.
.After the quilting was over the
I ladies opened their several dishes
j of cooked food that they had
I brought and we had a delicious
supper which was thoroughly en
joyed by all.
