Sgt. Robert Knipley of Portland,
Oregon, is spending a short fur
lough with his wife and son in
Butler. Mrs. Knipley was before her
marriage Miss Pauline Rustin of
this city.

Herman Elliston, AMMI 1-s of
the U. S. Naval Air Station has
returned to Atlanta after spending
a five-day leave with his wife and
his mother. Mr. Elliston is ex
pecting to be transferred from this
station in the very near future.
Sgt. Lem Sawyer, Chief Petty
Officer Adrain Sawyer of the U. S.
Navy, and Miss Faye Sawyer of
Warner Robins, were week-end
guests of their parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Limuel Sawyer. The Chief
Petty Officer is spending a several
days furlough with his parents
this being the first leave granted
him by the Navy to come home in
three years.
The marriage of Miss Ruth Mc
Chargue of Butler to Sgt. A. L.
Crook of Macon is of interest to
their many friends throughout this
section of the state.
The marriage was solemnized
October 23.
Mrs. Crook is the daughter of
Mrs. C. J. McChargue of Butler.
She is a graduate of Butler High
school and recently completed a
business course at a Macon busi- j
ness college.
Sgt. Crook recently returned to
the United States after having
served overseas for twenty-eight
months. He is now stationed in
Macon where the couple plan to
make their future hon.i. |
Miss Christie Bell Kennedy, of
Tifton lor the past eight years

2nd at the Mt. Vernon Va., Meth

parents, Mr .and Mrs. Homer Cox.
Mr. Cox was recently discharged

served five years most of which

Smith Hammock to Mr. A. P. Coul
ter, both of this city, is of interest
to their many friends throughout
the state.
The marriage was solemnized at
th elocal Methodist parsonage last
Sunday with Rev. C. L, Glenn
performing the ceremony in the
presence of only a few close
friends.
Mr. and Mrs. Coulter will con
tinue thei rresidence in this city
where Mr. Coulter is connected
with the Bazemore Department

Loucile Covington of Thomasion,
to Mr. Emory Melvin McChargue,
of Butler, now serving in the U.
S. Navy.
The marriage was solemnized
Wednesday night at the home or
Ordinary and Mrs. J. R. Lunsford
in Reynolds with Judge Lunsford
performing the ceremony.
Mrs. McChargue is a native of
Thomaston while Mr. McChargue
is the son of Mrs. C. J. IvleChargue
of Butler.
Mrs. Arthur McCrary of Thom
aston visited her sister, Mrs. B. F.
Montgomery Monday.
Mrs. Lucy Belle Harris visited
her daughter, Mrs. Clinton Molt
last Friday
