To each of us the ivord Christmas
summons many happy memories. To
tome it recalls a ride over the frozen
cou>Uryside to grandma’s, sleigh-
bells tinkling all the while. To others
it recalls happy reunions in mirth-
filled living rooms, gay banquets and
glowing Christmas trees. But to alt
it recalls days of charm and endear
ment, the happiest days of our lives.
May you know this happiness in
jB its fullness once again, dear
friends, this Christmas season of

The brewing industry realizes that its work
ef keeping beer retailing on a high plane can
be made fully effective only when the privi-i
lege of selling malt beverages is vested in;
those who will not abuse it.
To City Coancilmen and County Commis
sioners All Over Georgia: We urge you to
make a careful investigation into the back
ground of all those who apply for permits to
sell malt beverages during 1945. Potential
trouble spots can be eliminated before they
develop if you make sure that only reputable,
law-abiding businessmen are licensed, and
that permits are withheld from those few who
would use their privilege to sell beer as a
screen for illegal or unwholesome practices.
Meantime, if you have any retailers who are*
not cooperating fully with your law enforce
ment authorities, please tell us about
them at once for our prompt action.
