Juior-Senior Banquet Held
At Dean Hotel
Centering the interest of the
younger social contingent, the
junior class of the local high school
feted the senior class at a formal
banquet on Friday evening, the
twenty-sixth of April.
This traditional festivity was
held at the new Dean Hotel. Two
of the rooms were beautifully de
corated with southern smilax arch
ing each door and window, and
with pot plants and flowers,
featuring tho senior class colors,
green and white.
The tables were adorned with
centerpieces of crystal and silver
candle-sticks holding white can
dles. Dainty hand-made place cards
also carried out the class colors and
the class flower—white carnation.
A delicious four-course menu was
served by the grade-mothers and
several assistants. The class colors
were further revealed in the salad
and dessert courses.
An interesting program of songs,
music, toasts, last .will and testa
ment, and bestowing of gifts was
enjoyed. Mrs. J. W. Edwards I, J.
S. Green Jr, Ward Edwards, Mari
lyn Bussey, and Barbara Allen
furnished the music. Barbara Allen,
junior class president, gave the
welcome, to which Estelle Childree,
the senior president, responded.
Martha Locke read the last will
and testament, and Roy Callahan
was giftorian. A dance followed the
program.
About seventy students and
teachers attended this affair, and
also present were the class mascots,
Miss Lynn Mitchell and Master
Larry Almgreen.
Of notable mention are the fol
lowing, who assisted in decorating
and serving:
Mrs. E. G. Blackwell, Mrs. J. W.
Edwards II, Mre.Garnet Heath, Mrs
C. T. Wright, Mrs. J. S. Green, and
