Lesson-Sermon
Americus, Ga., May 21—Allen
Chappell, candidate for reeleclion
to the Georgia Public Service Com
mission, opened campaign head-
puarters here Tuesday.
His platform states that electric,
gas and telephone service ushers
of Georgia have been saved nearly
$5,000,000 in reduced costs since he
took office in 1942.
Chappell also said public utility
equipment has been improved and
enlarged under adverse conditions
during the war years.
“Soul and Body’’ will be the.
subject of the Lesson-Sermon which
will be read in Churches of Christ,
Scientist, throughout the world, on
next Sunday.
The Golden Text is: “Know ye.
not that ye are the temple of God*
and that the Spirit of God dwell-
eth in you?” (I Cor. 3:16).
Among the citations which com
prise the Lesson-Sermon is the fol
lowing passage from jthe Bible:
“And what agreement hath the
temple’ of God with idols? for ye
are the temple of the living God.”
(II Cor. 6:16).
The Lesson-Sermon also includes
the following passage from th»
Christian Science textbook, "Science
and Health with ' Key to the
Scriptures” by Mary Baker Eddy:
“When being is understood, life
will be recognized as neither ma
terial nor finite, but as infinite,—
as God, universal good; and the
belief that life, or mind, was ever
in a finite form, or good in evil,
will be destroyed. (P. 76).

^ ' PEVELAND can be improved, made more pro
ductive, by a cutting of pulpwood or sawlogs taken
in the right way. Your woods are not GONE . . .
you are giving them a chance to seed in new trees
and put wider rings on the old ones, which means
faster growth.
This process, tree farming, works out because
Nature has a habit of planting more young pines
than your land can support. Take advantage of
Nature’s generosity. Thin overdense stands for pulp-
wood, always leave plenty of seed sources when you
cut, never take all of the trees from a tract, and keep
fire out of your Moods!
The days of destructive “one crop” cutting of
timber land should be over.
Pine trees need not be a one- or two-time crop.
They can be grown continuously for sustained in
come. A steady home market for pulpwood permits
you to take a frequent cash crop . . . and to improve
the woods by doing so.
Let State, County, or Union Bag foresters help
you make more money out of your timber land by
encouraging it to work a little harder.

Hi? Don’t say "no” for if you have
ever been in the typing room, you
can truthfully say ‘yes.’ We have
taken the position of naming the
room and that title seemed to fit
so nicely. Almost every day about
three mice run around the room
